Some Spoookkyy reasons you need a travel consultant...

One of America's favorite holidays, Halloween has always been a holiday filled with mystery, magic and superstition.  And did you know that one quarter of all the candy sold annually in the U.S. is purchased for Halloween - a time for "trick-or-treating"?

Travel too has mystery, magic and superstition.  At Reid Travel we provide the mystery, add a bit of magic and remove all the superstition for you.  As for "trick-or-treating"...here are some tricks guaranteed to bring all sorts of treats (with the help of our consultants of course):

Even a Queen Gets a New Look

Each week I think about what I should share with you in a blog post.  In the travel industry, the news is constantly updated - there's always something new happening.  I'll continue to select the topic, but if you have any requests or suggestions, I'm more than thrilled to have them.

With that in mind, everyone thinks about a "make-over", even the cruise lines revamping their existing ships.  Cunard owns three 'royal' ships:  Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria.  Queen Mary 2 is the matriarch and the biggest of the group.  Launched in March 2003, she is four years older than her nearest relative, Queen Victoria, who was completed in January 2007.  Queen Elizabeth is the baby of the three.

The matriarch will be remastered to deliver new levels of luxury.  Embarking on a new chapter of innovation she undergoes an extensive 25-day dry-dock at the Blohm and Voss Shipyard in Hamburg, Germany between May 27 and June 21, 2016.  She will stay true to her classic art deco heritage while offering updated contemporary interiors redesigned for today's discerning travelers.

A particular focus will be on the 172 Cunard Grill suites in addition to many innovations in other areas of the ship.  You will see new decor featuring neutral background colors with hints of traditional Cunard blues and reds.  Let's not forget the old - you will see elegant textures in new bespoke luxury carpet throughout featuring design work inspired by rugs from the original Queen Mary.  The crowning touch (no pun intended) will be the addition of exclusive artwork.

Already the utmost in sophisticated dining at sea, the Grill Restaurants will be configured to offer more intimate tables for two, increased space between tables for privacy, and additional tables for the ultimate in flexibility and ambiance.  Two things that do not need to be redesigned are the enticing menus and Cunard's signature White Star Service.

Over the next few months I will keep you informed of Queen Mary 2's exciting new look.  The word is that it will exceed the expectations of all those who book to sail in the Queens Grill or Princess Grill.

GLAMPING...GLAMOROUS CAMPING!

At Reid Travel we get a thrill out of introducing our clients to all things new in the travel industry.  Glamping, a new buzz-word in travel, pairs destinations with the intimacy of camping and the world of luxury travel.  With Glamping, you don't just visit a destination, you experience the destination -- a perfect get-away for families that have a passion for sharing life's finest moments and unique experiences.

Montana Glamping has reached new heights at The Resort at Paws Up situated on a bluff overlooking the confluence of the Blackfoot River and Elk Creek.  Whether you are planning a family reunion, special birthday or anniversary celebration, or any other special event, you can reserve an entire luxury camp just for your group.  You'll have six luxury tents and exclusive use of the camp's dining pavilion, fire pit, chef and, most importantly your own camping butler who will cater to your every whim.

The property is a haven for authentic Montana dude ranch activities like trail riding, chuck wagons and cattle drives.  You'll also enjoy a vast menu of wilderness adventures of all kinds:  fly-fishing on the legendary Blackfoot River (10 miles of which flow through the Ranch); rappelling off cliffs memorialized by Lewis & Clark (a bit of history thrown in to the experience); whitewater rafting; ATV riding and a host of programmed activities for your kids -- a chance for mom and dad to be kids again also.

Remember this:  Your constant companion is Mother Nature.  What differentiates The Resort at Paws Up from a Montana guest ranch is their commitment to luxury.  It's Montana Glamping and it doesn't get any better.
